The Olive Garden is a short 5 minute drive from the small, quiet Spanish town of Jijona, a beautiful village famous for it’s Turron, a speciality sweet typically made of honey, sugar almonds and eggs. Just a few minutes drive away is The local Turron Museum which offers guided tours allowing you to see how the famous sweet is produced between June and Mid- December.

With mountainous scenery, steep winding roads, a traditional church, cafes and restaurants Jijona is a captivating day out for all the family.

San Juan and El Campello

Just 15 minutes driving brings you to the coastal towns of San Juan and El Campello where you are greeted with 7km of pure sandy beaches and safe swimming. The beach hosts numerous beach bars and water sports activities creating a lively atmosphere for sun worshipers and adrenaline junkies alike.

When you have had enough sun bathing you can take a walk on the promenade lined with many restaurants, tapas bars, ice cream parlours and shops.

The beaches have numerous free car parks situated along the front, if you fancy travelling further afield you can leave your car and take the Tram to Alicante in under 30 minutes.


Alicante has lots on offer, from daily markets on the sea front promenade, to a busy and lively nightlife around the old city of El Barrio. You can expect to see the local Spanish admiring many street artists at work along the promenade and enjoying lots of the fantastic restaurants and bars throughout the city.

Arriving by Tram brings you to the beautiful marina where you can sit and enjoy a relaxing drink whilst overlooking some of the luxury boats and yachts moored here.

The Santa Barbara castle is located on Mount Benacantil and offers stunning views over the city and surrounding area. It has cannons, dungeons, a moat and the famous look out tower. If you wish to walk to the top there are some fantastic photo opportunities and two cafes along the way to take a break. Alternatively the castle has two lifts running regularly (for a small fee) which takes you up through a tunnel carved out of the rock.


Tabarca is an island located in the Mediterranean sea and is the smallest permanently inhabited island in Spain. It is a fantastic day trip catching a boat from either El Campello or Alicante and spending the day exploring the coves and tidal pools and dining at the fresh sea-food restaurants. With stunning clear turquoise water it is the ideal location for snorkelling and swimming.


Bonalba is a nearby village just a 5 minute drive from The Olive Garden, there are numerous bars and an enjoyable 18 hole Golf Course with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, spa, gym and children's play ground.


Situated 15 minutes away from The Olive Garden, Busot is home to the Canalobre caves. The entrance to the caves is at an altitude of 700m and the cave itself is a large 70m vault. Once through the entrance you descend down a flight of stairs into the main vault were stalactites and stalagmites create shadows onto the floors and walls, it is a interesting and exhilarating visit.


Benidorm is a popular holiday destination offering 2 lovely beaches, water sport activities and 5 theme parks along with many other tourist attractions.

Terra Mitica is Europe's largest theme park and one of the areas main attractions. Opening again on 11th April with a range of new and exciting shows and rides its sure to be worth a day out. The park is set in the ancient villages of Egypt, Greece, Rome, Iberia and The Islands. With over 30 attractions spread over the villages its a great day for all, the daring can experience falling from great heights on the flight of the phoenix whilst children can enjoy mini replicas of the main rides in each area.

Aqualandia is a water park located in Benidorm with attractions including water slides, swimming pools, river rapids and sunbathing areas. It is twinned with the marine animal park, Mundomar. Many different species can be viewed at Mundomar including dolphins, sea lions and penguins. Visitors can also watch the spectacular shows put on several times per day.

Terra Natura animal park has over 200 species to be viewed including monkeys, rhinos, elephants and lions over the 79 acre park. Aqua Natura is a water park with an aquarium, a swimming pool area, flumes and slides. For the more adventurous you have the opportunity to swim with sharks!
